Operation "Commy Winkle" gets underway at the moorings at Ludham bridge. First, wait for Commodores to depart cruiser for land based amenities. Then transfer cruiser to other side of river using spare boat and many quantpoles. Act casual upon Commodore's return.

Phase two: wait until Commodores begin approach to cruiser, now moored on other bank. Swiftly transfer cruiser back to original position using double quanting style. Look surprised when Commodores glare daggers.

And now, a tradition that spans years of Kestrels folklore (two, to be precise). No, it isn't a bizarre method of baptism (not intentionally, anyway) but a challenge of manhood and determination. This year the womenfolk took up the gauntlet, and proved that they were just as capable of throwing themselves off the edge of Irstead slip, into the arms of two waiting skippers. The jumpee in question here is Laura, the skippers are Ed and Andy.
