Just A Quant At Twilight

to the tune of 'Just a song at twilight'
Bilge Boys:

May we quant now Skipper?
We have towed for miles.
Through the reedy ditches.
Over dykes and stiles.
See the night grows darker.
Evening shadows fall
Our bunks to us do call. (repeat)

Skippers:

Quant a little longer through the darkening night.
See the towers of Horning rising into sight.
Soon you will be bye-byes.
Tummies full of food.
Quant just a little longer.
I really think you should. (repeat)

Bilge Boys:

May we tow now Skipper?
We have poled for hours.
Shoving on the quantpole.
Using all our powers.
And alas, poor Bertie, he is now no more.
Clung onto his quantpole.
Found the ocean floor.
Stayed on the ocean floor.

Skippers:

As before but substitute "Potter" for "Horning", otherwise as before.

Bilge Boys:

May we quant now Skipper?
We have towed for days.
While the brilliant sunshine.
Scorched us with its rays
And our backs are burning.
Shoulders creek and ache.
We won't come next year skipper.
We just came by mistake.

Skippers:

As before but substitute "Wroxham" for "Potter", otherwise as before.
